Acting calmly and taking action in an emergency only happens if people know what to do. Made in conjunction with St John Ambulance and The Ipswich Hospital, 'Emergency First Aid' has been developed to provide the basic first aid skills that everyone should have.

Produced as a series of easy to understand clips, this programme can be played in sections for training support * Please note that some procedures featured (in particular CPR and Recovery) are regularly amended. Therefore, this programme is not intended to replace formal first aid training but should be used to complement training and, if necessary, advise those viewing of the current procedure that is applicable to your organisation.

The video also includes a series of key information 'health & safety' clips that have been selected by the emergency services as issues that the public should have more awareness of – primarily if visiting A& E.

The first aid demonstrations:

* CPR ( Breathing & Pulse )
* Recovery Position
* Burns & Scalds
* Bleeding
* Head Injuries
* Swallowed Poisons
* Epileptic Fits (Unconsciousness)

The ‘health & safety clips':

* Dialling 999
* What is Triage?
* Food & Drink
* Tetanus
* Painkillers
* Child Safety

Copies of this programme are being used by:

* schools, youth groups and voluntary organisations
* neighbourhood watch schemes
* the emergency services
* businesses
* cubs, scouts, brownies & guides
